Rapid Cooling

Using a heat exchanger (plate cooler) as a pre-cooler, direct cooler or combi-cooler will ensure substantial cost savings by reducing the running time of the bulk tank. The heat exchanged in the cooling process provides water for washing down, watering stock, or with added heat, for plant washing

To instantly cool the milk to less than 10 °C before it reaches the tank, a unique tubular heat exchanger has been developed. The milk flowing through this heat exchanger on its way to the tank is cooled by means of the same ice water provided by the ice builder in the IB tank. The advantages:

• No hot milk is mixed with cold milk in the tank.


• Less agitation of the milk reducing risk of lipolysis.


• Production of lukewarm water that can be used as drinking water for the herd.
