Rapid cooling to 4°C efficiently controls bacterial growth important in any milk production but vital if milk is to be stored hygienically for more than a day . The faster the milk is brought under the critical limit of 10 °C and keeps on cooling down to the storage temperature of 4 °C, the better the quality will remain. Once storage temperature is reached it has to be maintained efficiently.

Ice Bank (milk cooling tanks with integrated ice water systems)
The Ice Bank method of cooling involves ice water being sprayed against the inner tank which holds the milk, shortening cooling times to 10° C by around 50%.
Closed models are fitted with the fully automatic Rotojet automatic cleaning system. The Rotojet together with the advanced programmable tank control have touch sensitive control pads.
These tanks represent a new era in ice bank cooling. Complete with an integral ice builder these tanks allow maximum use of off-peak electricity. The ice water intensively cools the milk without any risk of freezing, even with only small volumes in the tank. The range includes models from 6 00 to 3,400 litres with open top and 1,600 to 15,000 litres as closed units.
Direct Expansion (milk cooling tanks with direct expansion)
The Direct Expansion method of cooling involves milk being cooled via direct contact with the evaporator. The open top models have the advantage of a low profile making them suitable for installation in dairies where height restrictions apply.
