About Fullwood Limited - A Brief History

1785

Edward Fullwood set sail from England for Jamaica leaving behind his brother, Matthew to establish an import and export company. The company was to be called Fullwood & Bland Limited. Amongst the items shipped back to England from Jamaica was the seed of the annatto plant or the lipstick tree as it was called locally. Annatto was and is still used in the colouring of leather, fish and cheese. This was the newly formed company’s first contact with the dairy farmer. Later its product range was increased to include rennet used for coagulating milk for cheese making. The original site was in Clerkenwell, London before relocating to Ellesmere, Shropshire in the heart of the English dairy country.

1930's

Fullwood & Bland became involved with the latest invention - machine milking. Fullwood milking machines as they are now called are highly respected world-wide.

1990

Fullwood was granted the Royal warrant after installing a direct to line parlour at Prince Consort farm for Her Majesty The Queen, in Windsor Great Park. A second parlour was later installed.

1994

Fullwood & Bland, a privately owned British firm with its owners’ ancestry tracing back to the original brothers, became a holding company after the acquisition of the Packo group of companies. Fullwood Limited became the trading company.

The Packo Group of companies started with the setting up of a forge in Zedelgem, Belgium. Later this modest concern was to expand into Packo Inox a forward thinking company initially producing general agricultural machinery.  In the 1960's the company started manufacturing milk cooling tanks, and in the 1970's they diversified into the manufacture of processing equipment for liquid foodstuffs.

The Packo Group justly gained a reputation world-wide for its quality product used in the processing , cryogenic and pharmaceutical industries.
